Why Organized Medicine Is AT WAR With Natural Healingby Julian Whitaker
Never in the history of medicine have physicians so worshipped drugs to the exclusion of everything else. Modern medicine, it seems, is at war with the natural world. All natural remedies are persecuted, especially those that get in the way of patented drugs. The reason? These natural treatments (like vitamins, minerals, and herbal-based remedies) CANNOT BE PATENTED. Thus they represent a financial threat to the status quo. But plant medicinals are the cornerstone of every healing art, including modern medicine. Medications such as digitalis, ephedrine, aspirin, quinine, colchicine, and atropine are all herbal medicines. In contrast, 80% of conventional medicine has NO scientific basis at all, according to the U.S. Office of Technology Assessment. Bypass surgery has been scientifically disproven three times. The "science" of angioplasty, carotid endarterectomies, and most cancer therapies is no stronger than "hope" and a big bill. Folks, you NEED unconventional therapies. For example, vitamins C, E, and B6, magnesium, Co-Enzyrne Q10, and L-Carnitine are all excellent therapies for heart patients. But cardiologists and internists never use them because they've been brainwashed against all things nutritional. For the skillful use of these treatments, you have to go to a physician or therapist who has broken the code of conformity that stifles the medical profession. And that's exactly what millions are doing now. About one in three Americans used an alternative therapy in 1990. This exceeds the number of visits made by Americans to all types of mainstream doctors! If mainstream doctors would just expand their state of mind, they would recognize the value of using natural therapies to treat a variety of conditions. Diet, lifestyle changes, acupuncture, and nutritional supplementation are supported by enough science to sink a battleship. These natural therapies represent some of the most promising medical discoveries we have.
